Robotic milking machine

Robotic milking machines are used to milk cows automatically. The robot cleans the udder, then attaches a teat cup to each of the four teats. The machine is able to identify each individual cow. The number of milking sessions and the yield are recorded. The cows themselves decide when they want to be milked. Any sick animals can be identified immediately, as illness causes a drop in their milk production.

Since 2009, ‘t Spieker has had two robotic milking machines in operation. This technique is both sustainable and animal-friendly.
